I love books about money and personal growth, they really help expand the horizons around you. My husband and I recently started a book club between the two of us, as a way to broaden our horizons together and keep each other accountable to finish our books.
But let's face it, I'm human and love a good suspense/thriller/mystery book too. Below I have a not held back list of everything I've been reading lately.
July 2024
-
Village in the Dark by Iris Yamashita - This book was another plane read for my trip to Eastern Idaho. This book follows three women who are somehow tied together and to gang violence in rural Alaska. The three meet and discover the reasons behind the deaths, disappearances, and foul play that haunt them. Normally, I ditch my laid back plane reads once I get home from my trip, but this one kept me hooked enough to finish it off at home. Another great mystery thriller!
June 2024

The Drowning Kind by Jennifer McMahon - I had a lot of plane time in June (I got married in Jamaica!) and picked this book off Libby to help pass the time. A family's history is intertwined with a magical spring on their property. It wasn't my normal kind of book, but the story kept me hooked from the beginning and I've recommended it to a few other people too! (Bonus points because I got to visit a natural spring over Fourth of July weekend and it made the whole story real!)
January and February 2024
-
Rich and Righteous by Julien Gordon - I started off the year with the intention to read one chapter a day. I made it through January and half way through February with this routine before I fell off the habit. This is my second time reading this book, but it renews my mindset each time I pick it up.
